Sometimes I can just kick myself. I met the lady in this photograph at the Memorial Day event I attended yesterday at the Presidio. I walked up to her and ask her if I can take a photograph of her as she looked intriguing in her red dress in contrast to her surroundings. She allowed me to photograph her with my Yashica Mat 124G and will get them scanned soon. I hope they come out as she requested a copy and I will happily oblige her. She mentioned that she had a friend over in Iraq and that she would be sending the photograph to the person along with program for the event. The reason I wanted to kick myself is that I should have talked to her. At the time I felt that she really wanted to be alone in her thoughts and that’s why she was where she was standing. But thinking about it now I should have shown more interest until she gave me clues to simply go away. I would have loved to talk about her friend if she would have liked. She seemed like such a classy lady and I am hoping that she will contact me so I can send her the print. I didn’t even get her name.
